I Exposed Cheating in the IWWC 2025—Then I Was Attacked and Banned

I’m Resistance Agent @Xyinkl, author of the OPR Cheat Report: For Whom the Bell Tolls? — Exposing a Massive Automated OPR Misconduct Ring.

I was relieved to see Niantic Spatial recently take action, resulting in massive bans for 50+ ENL and 6+ RES accounts in China. Furthermore, I understand that TOS-violating agents from Europe, the Americas, and other regions have also been banned. It is incredibly satisfying to see justice finally being served worldwide.

However, today’s message is not a celebration. I am still facing significant backlash.

I believe in fair play, and I believe the global Ingress community deserves to know what is happening in the IWWC (Ingress WorldWide stats Competition) community. When I tried to expose the cheating, my efforts were met not with support, but with cover-ups, personal attacks, and blatant discrimination from an IWWC admin.

Here is the full timeline of what happened:

📅 The Investigation and the Bans

  • December 25, 2025: I published a post exposing a specific IWWC player whose data was so blatantly abnormal that it was mathematically impossible to achieve legitimately. I was met with immediate backlash from the IWWC group of players. Instead of addressing the issue or investigating, the IWWC admin simply took down the competition data leaderboard entirely to cover up the anomalous stats. And I was warned.
  • February 2026: Over 40 Chinese Ingress players conducted a massive investigation into OPR system abuse and cheating. We compiled our evidence into a comprehensive report.
  • March 18, 2026: Our investigation yielded significant results. Following the report, Niantic Spatial took decisive action by initiating a large-scale ban wave. Of the 28 cheating accounts we identified in our report, 27 were struck down. This should have stood as a triumph for game integrity.

🛑 The Backlash and Cover-Up

  • March 19, 2026: I spoke up in the IWWC 2025 group. I pointed out an uncomfortable truth: just like last year, there were people in the group actively trying to whitewash the situation and make excuses for the banned players.

Instead of acknowledging the cheating, a group of players immediately swarmed and attacked me, accusing me of "ruining the competition." I patiently explained my stance to the group: my only intention was to expose TOS violations and protect the game. I had absolutely no desire to ruin the event itself.

⚖️ The Unjust Ban and Discrimination

Shortly after, an admin named Sh****42 abruptly removed me from the group chat.

The justification given was absolutely absurd—they claimed my words were an "attack on the admin's background." Worse, in the ban reason, Sh****42 actively smeared and attacked Chinese players, dismissing our massive 40-person anti-cheat investigation as nothing more than "Chinese Drama."

Historical records indicate that this is not an isolated occurrence. Sh****42 has a documented pattern of making discriminatory and racist comments targeting players from China, Russia, Palestine, Yemen, and other nations. The concrete evidence of these remarks will not be shared here; it will be submitted directly to the official Niantic Spatial team for investigation.

After all this, I am incredibly shocked and disappointed. I spent more than 20 hours on that Report. I stepped up to maintain the fairness of a game we all dedicate ourselves to. I did not attack anyone personally. Yet, I am the one being silenced, kicked out, and subjected to discriminatory tropes, while the community leaders actively defend and cover up for cheaters.

Therefore, I am bringing this out of the shadows and onto Reddit and beyond. We simply cannot let toxic leadership protect cheaters while punishing the agents who stand up for fair play.

📢 My Call to Action

Based on these events, I am publicly calling for the following:

  1. To the Niantic Spatial Team: Please thoroughly audit the accounts of all past IWWC award winners. If any TOS violations or OPR abuse are found, they must be met with strict and immediate penalties.
  2. To the Niantic Spatial Team: Please pressure the IWWC organizers into immediately revoking Sh****42’s admin privileges. A full investigation into his discriminatory conduct is required to restore the credibility of the IWWC organizing committee. Hate speech has no place in Ingress.
  3. To the Niantic Spatial Team: Please audit the schedule, format, and rules of the IWWC. Ensure that this event actually serves as a positive force for the community, rather than acting as a safe haven and breeding ground for cheaters.
  4. To the Global Player Base: I call on all Agents—Enlightened and Resistance alike—to exercise extreme caution and reconsider participating in further IWWC events until the three issues above are resolved. We need to collectively boycott cheating, actively report violating accounts, and work together to protect the fairness and health of Ingress.

Thank you for reading.

To borrow a line from Rick and Morty,

I’ve got a message for them, from the agents keeping this game alive. A message from the agents who believe in this community, to the toxic, discriminatory, and power-abusing leadership, and the unrepentant, colluding cheaters who don’t:

YOU ARE OUTNUMBERED! >

We cannot let a loud, toxic minority ruin the integrity of the grid.

Agents, unite!

Of course, the previous version didn't make it past the Reddit mods, so here is the redacted version.

Erasing the Evidence: How a Stats Competition Deleted Its Leaderboards to Protect Cheaters and Silenced Whistleblowers with Discrimination

Hello Agents,

I am writing this to discuss a concerning pattern of behavior regarding TOS abuse, and how the leadership of a prominent, globally recognized third-party Ingress competition actively suppressed whistleblowers and used discriminatory language to silence the community.

(Note to Mods: To comply strictly with subreddit rules, I have removed all specific agent names, in-game IDs, and direct links to unredacted chat logs. This post focuses solely on the systemic issue and the pattern of community mismanagement.)

Here is the timeline of the systemic issue we uncovered:

The Investigation and the Official Ban Wave

  • Late 2025 to Early 2026: A group of over 40 Chinese Ingress players banded together to conduct a massive, data-driven investigation into systemic OPR (Wayfarer) abuse and spoofing. We compiled comprehensive data showing mathematically highly improbable stats.
  • Covering up the Anomalies (Dec 2025): When these abnormal stats were first flagged in the competition's official community, the management team’s response was not to investigate. Instead, they completely took down the competition data leaderboard to hide the anomalies.
  • Niantic Takes Action (March 18, 2026): The data from our investigation was solid. Following our reports through official channels, Niantic took decisive action and initiated a massive ban wave. The cheating accounts involved in this network were successfully struck down by the official Niantic team. This should have been a victory for fair play.

The Backlash and Discriminatory Response

  • March 19, 2026: Following the official ban wave, I spoke up in the competition's official chat group. I pointed out the uncomfortable truth that several community members were still actively making excuses for the accounts that Niantic had just banned.
  • Rather than acknowledging the official Niantic bans, the competition's administration team immediately targeted me.
  • I was abruptly permanently banned from the official group. The justification given by the head administrator was absolutely appalling: they dismissed our massive 40-person anti-cheat effort as nothing more than "Chinese Drama." ### The Core Issue I stepped up to maintain the fairness of a game we all dedicate hours to. Yet, when presented with official Niantic bans confirming our investigation, the event's leadership chose to actively defend the banned accounts, silence the whistleblowers, and resort to racist tropes to dismiss a legitimate investigation by Asian players.

We cannot let toxic leadership and discrimination dictate global community events.

My Call to Action

I have already submitted a detailed report directly to the Niantic Spatial Team and Niantic Support through the proper official channels regarding this organizational misconduct.

I urge the global player base to:

  1. Exercise caution when participating in third-party competitions that lack transparency and protect TOS violators.
  2. Continue reporting Wayfarer abuse through official Niantic channels.
  3. Stand against discrimination and toxic management in our community spaces.

Thank you for reading. We must work together to protect the fairness and health of Ingress
