伴随着最后一个Glyph画完，动画开始旋转。
屏幕显示“NEW ACCESS LEVEL 16”。
就这样，入坑四年多，但是实际只玩了九个月的@Xyinkl，在8月8日升16了。
面对8月北京的热浪，他不禁回想起2015年末。
那个时候，刚刚入坑的他在3周年双倍AP期间，靠着“天大寒，砚冰坚，手指不可屈伸，弗之怠”的中二精神，以及Seven&Eleven所售小罐装“燃点”白酒，在风雪中走遍了附近的有数的portal。升到了8级，还险些发烧。（请被提及的商户主动联系他支付推广费）
之后，毫无意外的，那个蓝色小方块APP，就再也没被打开过。
16-18三年间，XMA、MD、IFS，游戏里的一切都跟他无关。
16-18三年间，本地蓝绿的种种瓜葛他都不曾知晓。
16-18三年间，唯一的一次打开游戏是在芝加哥，然而很快就转投了某黄色小畜生的怀抱。
直到18年9月的某一天，他偶然的，又一次打开了那个蓝色小方块。
什么时候天津有这么多Portal了，自己居然还有了工Po？！
想了想，他决定了，把这个游戏继续玩下去。
做Biocard、面基，前五个都面的竟然都是绿军。
加群，请教问题。找大佬要Key，自提MU黑牌。
学着做单/双顶点多重，白天上班薅key，下班做多重刷AP。
参加北蓝充电、年会、IFS。认识并Hack各式各样大佬。
有的给了他VRLA，有的给了他红糖，还有的给了他吃鸭不得的怨念。
有次，同学来找他玩耍。他本想赚个安利牌，但却愕然发现对方竟是15级大佬。
只能赞叹“物以类聚，Agent以群分”，好湿好湿
某次充电后，北蓝大佬谆谆教诲到，天津玩家很不活跃啊，这可不好。
于是，他积极准备天津IFS，设计任务，做宣传册，设计纪念牌子。

时间来到了2019年8月，
他也只差40w就能攒够4000w的AP了。
升16不难，但他在等个机会。
正好8月8号被安排去奥体公园附近开个会。
本来没想升16，单纯想顺路做个任务，刚上线的“2014 年的鸟巢”。
但是事情发生在8.8早上，他起床刷INS，
L8 Day? 双倍经验三天？
嗯，猩猩都给力了，这就是天意吧。
8月8号，奥体中心。十一年前，也是大事。
这等天时，他要升16！
不过，升16这么重要的事，得有仪式感。

As he finished drawing the final Glyph, the animation began to spin.
The screen read 'NEW ACCESS LEVEL 16'.
And just like that, on August 8, @Xyinkl reached level 16—more than four years after first joining, though he had actually played for only nine months.
Standing in Beijing's August heat, he couldn't help thinking back to late 2015.
Back then, a brand-new player, he had roamed every one of the few nearby Portals through wind and snow during the third-anniversary double-AP event, fueled by the melodramatic resolve of 'In bitter cold, with ice hard in the inkstone and fingers too stiff to bend, I did not slacken' and little cans of 'Randian' baijiu from Seven&Eleven. He reached level 8 and nearly came down with a fever. (Businesses mentioned here: please contact him to pay your advertising fees.)
After that, entirely unsurprisingly, the little blue-square app was never opened again.
For the three years from 16 to 18, XMA, MD, IFS—everything in the game had nothing to do with him.
For the three years from 16 to 18, he knew nothing of the local blue-green entanglements.
For the three years from 16 to 18, the only time he opened the game was in Chicago, and even then he soon fell into the arms of a certain little yellow critter.
Until one day in September 2018, when by chance he opened that little blue square once more.
Since when had Tianjin acquired so many Portals—and how did he even have one at work?!
After thinking it over, he decided to keep playing.
He made Biocards and met people offline; the first five people he met turned out to be Enlightened.
He joined groups and asked questions. He asked veterans for Keys and picked up his Onyx MU medal.
He learned to make layered Fields with one or two fixed anchors, farming Keys at work by day and grinding AP through layered fielding after work.
He joined Beijing Resistance recharging events, the annual gathering, and IFS. He met and 'Hacked' all sorts of veterans.
Some gave him VRLAs, some gave him red Power Cubes, and others left him nursing the comic grievance of never getting that duck dinner. (Dengdage, a leading figure in Beijing Resistance, brings people together each year with the promise of a duck dinner.)
Once, a schoolmate came to hang out. He hoped to earn a recruiting medal, only to discover in astonishment that his visitor was already a level 15 veteran.
All he could do was marvel: 'Birds of a feather, Agents together.' Fine verse—fine and 'wet', as the pun goes. So very 'wet'.
After one recharging event, a Beijing Resistance veteran earnestly told him: Tianjin's players aren't very active; that isn't good.
So he threw himself into preparing Tianjin IFS: designing Missions, making brochures, and designing commemorative badges.

In the blink of an eye,
it was August 2019,
and he was just 40w (400,000) short of 4000w (40,000,000) AP.
Reaching level 16 wasn't hard; he was waiting for the right moment.
As it happened, he was assigned a meeting near Olympic Park on August 8.
He hadn't planned to reach level 16—just to do the newly released '2014 年的鸟巢' ('The Bird's Nest in 2014') Mission on the way.
But on the morning of 8.8, he woke up and checked Instagram—
L8 Day? Three days of double experience?
Well, even Niantic—the ape—was lending a hand. This must be destiny.
August 8, the Olympic Sports Center. Eleven years earlier, something big had happened here too.
With timing like this, he was going to hit level 16!
But something as important as reaching level 16 needed a little ceremony.
So he went to draw a fortune.

その後、まったく予想どおり、あの青い四角のアプリが開かれることはなくなった。
16年から18年の3年間、XMA、MD、IFS、ゲームの何もかもが彼には無縁だった。
16年から18年の3年間、地元の青と緑のいざこざも一切知らなかった。
16年から18年の3年間、唯一ゲームを開いたのはシカゴだったが、そのときもすぐに、ある黄色いちび獣の懐へ飛び込んでしまった。
そして18年9月のある日、偶然、彼は再びあの青い四角を開いた。
天津にはいつの間にこんなにポータルが増えたんだ、しかも自分の職場にもあるじゃないか？！
少し考えて、彼はこのゲームを続けることにした。
バイオカードを作り、オフで会う。最初に会った5人は、なんと全員エンライテンドだった。
グループに入り、分からないことを聞いた。先輩たちにキーをもらい、MUのオニキスメダルを獲得した。
頂点1つまたは2つを固定する多重フィールドの作り方を学び、昼は職場でキーを集め、退勤後は多重フィールドでAPを稼いだ。
北京レジスタンスのリチャージ会、年会、IFSに参加した。いろいろな先輩に出会い、その人たちを「Hack」した。
VRLAをくれる人も、赤いパワーキューブをくれる人も、あの鴨料理にありつけないという、笑い交じりの恨みを残してくれる人もいた。（北京レジスタンスのまとめ役Dengdageは、毎年「鴨をごちそうするよ」と呼びかけ、皆を集める。）
あるとき、同級生が遊びに来た。勧誘メダルを稼ごうと思ったら、相手はなんとレベル15のベテランだった。
「類は友を呼び、エージェントは群れを成す」と感嘆するしかなかった。名詩だ――「詩」と「濡れる」をかけて、びしょ濡れだ。実にびしょ濡れ。
あるリチャージ会の後、北京レジスタンスの先輩に諭された。天津のプレイヤーはあまり活発じゃないね、それじゃ良くない。
そこで彼は天津IFSの準備に励み、ミッションを設計し、パンフレットを作り、記念バッジをデザインした。

あっという間に、
時は2019年8月となり、
彼も4000w（4000万）APまで、あと40w（40万）というところに来ていた。
レベル16になるのは難しくなかったが、彼は機会を待っていた。
ちょうど8月8日に、オリンピック公園の近くで会議に出る予定が入った。
もともとレベル16になるつもりはなく、ついでに公開されたばかりの「2014 年的鸟巢」（2014年の鳥の巣）ミッションをやるだけのつもりだった。
ところが8.8の朝、起きてInstagramを見ていると、
L8 Day？経験値2倍が3日間？
うむ、猩猩ことNianticまで後押ししている。これは天意だろう。
8月8日、オリンピックスポーツセンター。11年前にも、大きな出来事があった。
これほどの好機だ、レベル16になるしかない！
とはいえレベル16になるほど大事なことには、儀式が必要だ。
そこで、おみくじを引きに行った。
